Singing

This section should be able to help you take care and fully utilize your most important instrument, the voice. Even if you "vocalize" by screaming, you can pick up some pointers for healing and optimizing your voice of choice.

If at all possible, it is best to arrive to a gig early and warm-up with some singing exercises. Singing "fa" & "la" up and down a scale four or five times slowly and deliberately should suffice.

Do not eat or drink any dairy products at least twelve hours before your performance. This eliminates the accumulation of pleghm in your throat, which can alter the pitch of a sung note when you are least expecting it.

Drinking hot tea with lemon the day of the show is much better for your voice, than say coffee or other hot & cold drinks. Try to drink water that is room temperature over cold water, so as not to "tighten" your vocal cords.
